Anyone add weight to a 2019 TRD Pro

I’m happy that I made the switch from Jeep to Toyota. After all the stuff I did to the Jeep, I wanted to keep it simple and went with the 19 Pro. I did not plan to mess with the suspension. That being said, I would feel better with a winch since some of my hunting trails are deep and can get pretty wet. I ordered a c4 bumper last month and it shipped two days ago. I picked up a winch and am concerned the total weight will cause the front to sit much lower.

I thought I could simply change out the coils but after several calls, I have had zero luck finding a solution.

Has anyone added weight? If so what were the results or if you found heavier coils.

I didn't see any drop in front when I added C4 bumper and 10k winch .. I highly suggest the corn-fed type of spacers to even out the front
 
You should upgrade the suspension, when you do, I'll take those awful Fox Shocks off your hands.

In all seriousness, you should be fine.

Man you love to hate on the Pros. This is like the third thread I have seen you bash them. Guess I am crazy for adding a winch and bumper to my 4Runner, I should just tackle the mall parking lots instead of the woods.

Jealousy still does not look good on you bud. Thanks for the helpful post and good luck with your tires rubbing.

No expert here, but do you know about how much weight you’ll be adding? If so, can you simulate the weight somehow (hang weights from the frame somewhere near where the bumper/winch will be) and measure the change in height? Just a thought.
 
I have an SSO Slimline bumper and winch totaling around 130 lbs on mine. I lost about 3/4" to sag on the "factory" Trail springs (590lbs?). I ended up going to an OME 885 which was almost perfect to offset that much weight, but I am on 5100's and could set my notch back at 0 to offset for the 2" lift the 885 advertised.

I think you are going to have to use a spacer cap if you find the droop objectionable. I'm just not familiar enough with the newer Fox shocks to make any recommendations for what might work since I don't know whether any of the current spring setups will fit them. The same problem applied to the older Bilstien TRD Pro setup because they had TRD Pro specific front springs and shocks, and wouldn't accept the available springs that fit the current 4Runner aftermarket. It's just too new a setup for most of us to be able to be much help.

So many different options.. Check the stickies on the top of the forum.

Easy approach: Add .75-1" cornfed top spacer.

Lighten up Francis....this is the interwebz. And I’m probably 1 out of hundreds in here who tease and joke light heartedly the Pro guys. Why so touchy? You paid $50k for a 4runner...be proud and own it!

I should have clarified. I meant I was trying to simply add a stronger spring.

I added RCI DOM sliders and aluminum skids past the transfer case.

Recently, I parked next to a newer 2019 TRD Pro in a parking lot that had zero modifications.

The front bumper on the other TRDP was about 1/2 to 3/4 higher than mine...

Also, when I'm just beginning to move forward, very slowly, if I tap the brakes, the front end seems to have a small bounce to it and the vehicle feels like it's rocking fore and aft ever so slightly... not sure if this is typical.

The only thing I can think of is that I've been of road now several times now and have hit some decent bumps at approximately 25+ MPH... I've also run some washboard roads at 50+ MPH... Perhaps that compressed the springs a bit in the front and I lost a little height.

With the new Pro Fox suspension?

Weight causes squatting, not necessarily use of the vehicle offroad, so possibly the weight you've added is what's caused yours to be lower. Unless his maybe just rolled off the lot and hasn't settled yet.

Bilstein Pro suspension was 1" taller than standard models, but I'm not sure what Fox is doing. We don't make any coils for the Fox parts.

Yes, the 2019 Fox suspension on the TRD Pro.

I was thinking the same thing too, as far as the settling... The owner of the other 2019 TRDP (a lady in her 50s maybe) said she hadn't taken it off road at all, and she'd done nothing to it... straight off the lot a few months ago...

So maybe hers was sitting a bit higher because the springs hadn't been really used much at all except for normal driving.

The funny thing is that I remember hitting some decent bumps on a stretch of dirt road, but the suspension just ate it up... very comfortable... When I got home though, I remember doing a double take, thinking that the front fenders and hood seemed a bit lower... Thought it was in my head until I saw the other 2019... The difference to me visually, was definitely noticeable.

I didn't expect to lose that much height due to settling.
 
My ‘19 Pro is bone stock right now. FWIW the ‘19 Pro front end definately sits slightly lower than a Pro with the Bilstein TRD Pro suspension, ie 2018 and older Pro’s. My other half has a 2017 with TRD Pro suspension(Bilstein) and Pro wheels as well. Front is higher on hers. Weight will add squat on any vehicle.
