Anyone Camp at High Island Beach in Texas?

Im debating a little camping trip this weekend at High Island beach. but im a bit nervous about it...

I have driven the beach many times. not worried about that. i just dont really feel comfortable knowing how to read the tide predictions.

Anyone have any help they can provide on this beach in particular?

high tides are supposed to be at like 7:30AM, and 8:30PM. says a rise of 1.31ft. im going to assume thats NOT how much the high tide will come up the beach, and is more for depth of water. but again, i have no idea how to read this. lol.

back in college, but never camped that beach though I know people do. We typically went South to Surfside, Matagorda, NPI to camp.

We never had a problem getting flooded at High Island Beach, but in those days we often went by an "act before you think" approach so could have just been lucky...

you're thinking about the tide charts the right way, 0 is average low tide, and + is vertical rise.

depending on how far you go it becomes a pretty narrow beach, be sure to set up away from the water in a high spot.

Thanks bud. i figured to post in the most general section to get the most views lol.

I will of course plan everything to be more on the cautious side. just wondered if there was any personal experience, because i could only imagine that a 1.31ft increase on high tide doesnt equate to a 1.31ft loss of beach if that makes sense. haha
