Anyone care to post a "how-to" on full installation of anytime backup camera
I purchased the anytime backup camera kit from BriGuyDIY, whom has been very accommodating and helpful, however, I have a brand new 2017 4runner with less than 4k miles, and if I'm going to start taking shit apart, ESPECIALLY the center console, I want to know exactly what I'm getting myself into. My previous car was a 2001 maxima, and did a fair amount of custom fabrication on it (mostly related to audio installs), but it was an older used car, and breaking clips and whatever wasn't a big deal...
BriguyDIY has a pretty straight-forward picture guide on his website as far as removing the center console, but I am still a little skeptical as far as mounting the switch I've purchased from aironboard... Some of you may think I sound ridiculous, but ripping away trim panels on a 4runner with 50 or 100k+ miles has a totally different feeling vs a literally brand new truck that you drove off the lot with 1 mile on it. I would feel much more comfortable if someone had step by step instructions for installation of the switch and camera kit on a new 4runner. I haven't found any picture threads or instructional videos for something of the sort, even though it seems pretty simple...
I think this is a totally beneficial upgrade that can be done with little to no harm to the vehicle or downsides (my type of upgrades=no downsides)...I just am not the type to take an experimental approach on a vehicle this new and expensive. I was graced with help on my purchase and don't want to **** anything up.
I hope I am not met with negativity as I presume there are a fair amount of new 4runner owners with little modification experience and this is would truly be a nice feature (especially if done properly and made to look stock).
I have a TRD off-road premium edition so the only stock switch locations I have access to are on the left side of the steering wheel.
