Anyone ever paint the 5-spoke sport wheels?

I've seen lots of the 5 star wheels like on the 99's, but what about the sport wheels that came on the '01-'02's? Anyone ever paint those or seen those done?

I've seen it done before. It was on a green 2001 sport, Let me see if I can find the pics..

I do remember it didn't look as good as the blacked out 5-stars.

i wish there was some kind of "paint simulator" of some sort so we could see what they would look like different colors because i have these rims too ( unfortunatly) and wondered what they would look like in a gunmetal or something like that.

Also i keep seeing everywhere that these are the sport rims but mine came on an 02 limited

Those wheels came on all 01-02 limiteds and sports. And yeah, they are ugly. haha

I think they would look better with something like a gunmetal gray or metallic charcoal by rustoleum rather than black.

So here's an option. Supposedly you can just peel plasti dip right off...I've used some but haven't tried to peel it off yet so I must say supposedly. Why not just coat with plasti dip and then paint your choice of color. If you don't like it then peel the plasti dip off and your back to stock colors. I have spray painted plasti dip and it does accept spray paint well.

Any other samples out there? Trying to decide if I need to find another set of wheels or if painting what I have will suffice. I have a silver 2001 sport and can't decide if gunmetal would look good with such a color.

Yeah theres more out there. But that one is all I could find in 20 mins searching. And I agree, gunmetal would look good but black does not.

Did these with a app on my phone so they aren't the best but it gives you a better idea. Think I might have to go get some wheel paint! :zoom:
