Dateline did a segment on the safest 4x4 SUVs of the late 90s. Big win for third gens. Also shows a second gen for a few seconds. Bottom line, don't drive an Isuzu or a Chevy. I found out recently just how weak those Chevys are built when my 4Runner's hitch tore through a little GMC pickup. So glad I drive a Toyota.

man im glad I drive a Toyota...but I know im not the only one who closed their eyes as that 96 hit the wall and I died a bit inside, brand new off the stinking lot.
