Anyone familiar with antennae?

Hello from Seattle!

Guess I have a classic now; After two decades and 238K miles, I'm starting to have parts challenges for my '89 4Runner.

My original antenna broke off recently, and it's a 5-section mast antenna that all websites seem to associate with a power moter that my truck never had. Does anyone know where to get the correct replacement part? Will a power antenna even fit in an '89 4Runner? I thought the wheel well left no free space...

Apparently this website is confusing the '84-'89 4Runner with the '84-'88 Truck.

You got me confused. We do not do the trucks, just the 4Runner. We did combine the first gen 4Runner 84 - 89 with the second gen 90 - 95 in the classic sub-forum. I would post there, they should be able to help you out.

<EDIT> When I said "This website", I was referring to the one I put up a link to, not T4R.org.

If you scroll down to where the manual antennas are listed on the linked website, they only list '84-'88 4Runners. It should list '84 through '89.

I figured since the trucks of that body style ran from '84 to '88, that maybe it was assumed on that website that that particular 4Runner body style only ran through '88, too.

So they don't list a manual antenna application for an '89 4Runner like the OP asked about. But I'm sure the ones listed for '84-'88 are the same.

Thanks for the responses. There were none in the more targeted forum. The link you attached promises compatibility iwth 4Runners up to '88, not '89. Was there a design change in '89 that I should be familiar with?

That's what I was saying, I think they made a mistake in not including the '89 4Runner in the manual antenna category, on their list. I'd give them a call to verify.

I don't know for sure, but I seriously doubt there was any redesign to the antenna, between '88 and '89.
