First time poster as a T4R owner. Just traded in the my lifted 08 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and picked up an 06 T4R Limited V8 with XREAS and RAS. After doing a lot of research and test driving a buddy's 04 V8, I was sold on the 4runner. Plus the sunroof and drop-down rear window makes the cabin feel like the top down in the Jeep haha. The 4runner has 166K on it and the Jeep had 140K and I made an even swap for it. The 4runner drives like a dream and it's great to know I'm only about halfway through it's life cycle, maybe even less. I hear these bad boys can go to a half million miles. That's crazy awesome. The 4runner is a place holder until I can afford a Tundra but I'm really happy with the switch.
Anyway, the one thing I miss about the Jeep that the T4R doesn't have (besides removable doors) is ground clearance. After doing extensive, mind-numbing research on this forum (many thanks to Ark_Swamper...I think is his handle), I've learned that since I have the RAS, I am limited to a front spacer lift only (unless I want to change out my entire suspension system...which, after the Jeep, I have had enough of for the time being). My question to y'all is have you heard anything or have any experience with the ProComp 2.25" spacer kit (http://www.procompusa.com/suspension-product-details.aspx?pt=9333&pl=7142&pqq=2286&pqa=13247). If so, any advice? Would 2.25" be too much in just the front, considering I have the heavier V8?
I've also read that I can set my rear airbag to it's highest setting and rip out the fuse (easiest among the many write-ups I've read...) so it doesn't return to it's normal position after 20 mph. My question: Is it bad for the airbags to be inflated to it's highest setting 24/7? Won't there be a higher chance that the bags burst if I hit a pot-hole or speed bump?
And for some reason my 4runner only came with one cross-beam on the roof rack...anyone know where I can get just the one?
