Anyone have experience with an 04 or 05 Rav4?

Hi all. Was wondering if anyone here has experience with the 2004 or 2005 model RAV4? I have been considering getting one to replace my 3rd GEN 4runner as I'm poking for something a little more comfortable on the highway and which gets better mileage. I drove a 2002 RAV4 a while back and it was severely underpowered, And had some weird transmission issue. I know they updated the engine in 2004 so I'm wondering if anyone has driven one and if there's a noticeable difference in power from the 2003. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

2000-2005 (2nd gen) is very small. I almost bought one in 2000. I went with the CRV instead. RAV seemed tiny inside. Didnt' care for that. My brother has a 2009 RAV4 (3rd gen) and it's the best (gen) one IMO. i don't care for the current one on sale. Anyway, if you feel the one you drove was underpowered, then steer clear from it (even if it had a tranny issue). My brother's I-4 is plenty quick, I wouldn't call it slow. Pretty comfortable. If you can find a V6 in good shape, get that!
