Anyone have experience with Ironman suspension lift?

I came across Ironman suspension today while looking for lift info. Had never herd of it till today. I believe they are made in Australia, but you can get them in the US from store.camel4x4.com. I read some reviews and they seem like good quality. Without any spacers they advertise a 1.8 in lift, which is less than a lot of guys want, but perfect for me. Im just wondering if anyone has experience with them and can provide some info?

I can't find the thread right now, maybe your search will have better luck. It looked like in the thread that the package that he bought was very unballanced as far as height goes. Deffinitly do more research before buying from them. Also look at ToyTec lifts.

NelsonMD has the front kit. I sold him mine but as far as I know he hasn't installed it yet. I had a full ironman suspension lift on my 80 series landcruiser and loved it for the price.

Search my name and ironman. Someone posted a thread from yotatech in a thread I started about a member installing the full kit on his 4runner. The rear lift, if I remember correctly, was extremely tall and I'd avoid it unless you're hauling a ton of weight in the back all the time.

Talk to Eli from camel4x4 and he'll help you out.

This is what I'm talking about here.

From what I gather Aussie's tend to pack heavy so the extra spring height, I'm assuming is for the added weight (it's rated for 660lbs :wow:)...atleast thats how OME does it for Landcruisers. I don't see why it would be any different for 4runners.

Yeah, CJ you beat to the punch. I am planning on installing the front 1.8 this weekend. I got defeated by rust last time I tried to install, but this time I should be good to go.

I read mostly positive reviews when I googled it. There were 1 or 2 guys that said ironman sucked, but they were very non-specific, so I didn't take it very seriously. Most said it was good quality, and seems to be pretty popular in AUS.

If you want to wait a little bit, I will tell you what I think of mine hopefully next week.
 
Thanks for the replies. Ya I read one thread where the guy said he loved the lift. I would be interested in the toytech lift. But at $650 this is alot cheaper. But Im not sure about those rear springs. They advertise 1.8 for the front and rear. I def dont want a 4 inch lift in the back. Another thing that gained my interest were the reviews I read on the ironman website. Seemed like a lot of them were saying that thier ride actually felt smoother than with stock suspension, even though it was taller and slightly more stiff. In a perfect world I would find progressive coils that give 1.5 of lift in the front are rear. The TRD coils are pretty close to that for the front, but I think they would lift me a litte more than desired.
 
You could go with some tall 99 coils and a set of shocks. on a 98 that may give you an inch.

OR. Old man Emu 881 front and 906 rear and a set of shocks.

Shock choice will give you a squishy, soft, firm, or harsh ride. Choosing the right shock is the most important thing.

Ya right now im running kyb gas adjust shocks, and they are REALLY stif. Ive had them for about 7k miles so they are still relatively new. Only been driven on the road. Iv driven alot of trucks, including a 95 ford f250, 04 f250, my dads 09 tundra, brothers 09 ram, two other 4runners, and several other trucks, and mine is literally the stiffest ride Iv ever felt! Too stiff.

But anyways, there was a guy selling his 99 coils on here a while back, and he listed the distance between his wheels and fenders. My 98 actually sits higher than his 99 did with stock coils! Both front and back. My rear springs were replaced for free at a toyota dealer about 4 months ago - there was a factory recall on them years ago. And as stiff as my front springs are, I dont think they are original coils either. So im afraid the 99 coils would be pointless for me. But I am considering the OME coils. My only fear is that I'll throw them on my kyb's, and the ride will be even more stiff. By the way Im running 33 psi in my tires. Not the max, which is 44.

those rear ironman springs should give you 1.8"s of lift "IF" you put 660lbs in the back of your 4runner....which is why I would stay away from the rears unless I was throwing on a 1" daystar spacer with the 1.8" ironman lift up front and adding a heavy rear bumper so I could get the ride height down on the ironman rear lift.

Thanks for the info. Were you running those coils on your truck before you sold them?
