Anyone have issues with IPF lights and 100 watt bulbs?

I recently installed IPF 968 CSG lights and put in the supplied 100 watt bulbs instead of the 55 watt ones it came with and it seems my kit doesn't like them. I don't if its a known problem or just something wrong with mine. They worked for a day but one of the bulbs starts smoking after a few seconds and eventually stops working. Then it blew out the fuse going to the battery. New fuse in and it starts smoking again. Take out the 100w bulbs put in the 55w and everything is fine no smoking no fuse blowing.

I don't know if i got a faulty bulb that is overloading the system (that even possible?) or that this system really isn't meant to handle 100w bulbs? Anyone else ever have these issues? I will be calling the place i ordered it from later today when they open and see if they have heard of this but i figure i would check here first.

you know what ga wire is going to the lights and ground ?

Strange. Was it the actual bulb that smoked/blew, or the wiring?

I have IPF 900 series lights with 130w bulbs and they run fine, easily the best lights I've ever had.

The bulb starts smoking just before the wiring starts. Its where the wire has contacts on the bulb it seems, ill take a picture when i get home. Its only the one though which is weird. The inline fuse blew going to the battery. I used all the supplied wiring which looks more then fine. I took a dremel to where i grounded the two black ground wires so they had a bare metal connection. Not much more on my end i can do.

Since the 55's work ok, and it's only one of the 100w bulbs smoking, then it's fair to say that you simply have one faulty 100w bulb. Try swapping the 100w bulbs around. If your remaining good 100w bulb works fine in one housing but burns up in the other, then you know it is not the bulb that is faulty, it will be a wiring/housing fault.
