Anyone have light's in lower grill

I was polking around there on my 06 and it seems there is a nice steel bar behind the lower grill for mounting add'l light's.

I saw 1 person that had some oval type light's mounted there , just wondering if anyone else has some .

OK you've got a few options

1. Momo's Floating lamp stay route.
2. Digphisher's inside the lower grill route.
3. Or the bull bar route.


i chose bullbar just to avoid any damage to my lights when i park and plus this way i can get some universal mounts from a jeep and mount two more lamps that i have just sitting around.

Is your Safari bar pretty solid ? any pic's with the lights ?

i must admit that this set up is strudy. people call it wimpy but if you tighten the bolts with enough levrage. its pretty freaking strong. i had my father, all 250 lbs of him sit on it, and no issues at all.

4th option

This is probably the most difficult of all the options. I did a modified version of Momo's floating lights. Then added a brush guard to help prevent damage from taps/bumps. I've been very please with the results. Since these photos I have added PIAA locks for some security and to cover-up the connector bolt below the lights.

I can't find the thread, but there's a member here who cut out his lower grille for rectangular PIAAs. The PIAAs were a driving and fog combination lamp, with a projector for one of them.

thats right i think he bought them because they looked perfectly stock just like the fog housing on the 03-05's

I mounted some Eurolite driving lights behind the lower grill and used the mounting plate that came on the lights and simply screwed one self-tapping screw into the frame crossbar. Easy and dont have to get other mounting brackets or bull bars. Gotta be careful of melting your grill though. Ill post picks if i can find them when i get home.

That looks really sharp. I like it a lot. Wish id a got a black 4r

i can get some universal mounts from a jeep and mount two more lamps that i have just sitting around.

Can you point me in the right direction for these universal mounts? I've been searching everything I can think of for some kind of 2" tube clamp to mount an extra set to a safari bar.

Is that the bar behind the grill in front of the coolers?

If so I used this to mount a set of microthin strobes but they don't really put out much light unless you cut out part of that lower grill area. I took my set off and relocated elsewhere.
