I love the look, almost a prerunner look and not as bulky as the brush guards i'm not a fan of...any opinions??

Is this going to be mount lights or just for looks?

A member on here has that light bar and likes it (r3dh3ad84) , but I have heard of them rusting out in a matter of months (http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/foru...-bar-dakar-style-keep-simple-stupid-kiss.html) .

If you are looking for something to mount lights to I just put this bar on and it is really solid and is not as bulky.

I want it more for that prerunner look...will add lights later. I like yours but it's almost too blended into the bumper for me, probably your goal. Do you have any pics of the other one on the 4runner...that first linky no worky? Trying to think of xmas presents. It's either that or an ARB bumper, not sure i want to add that weight though and the prerunner look is more to my liking.

Nevermind...link works now...your is homemade apparently...I can't find anything else w/ that prerunner look. Not fond of the idea of it rusting however. Any other links out there to a prerunner style light bar that doesn't affect approach angle?

did you make your own? Yours kind of blends in b/c of the color of your rig...however i have the titanium...might stand out a bit more. If you did make your own let me know if you'd be willing to make another w/ a hoop on top mimmicking the shape of the front grill.

There's a stainless steel Rampage Dakar light bar on www.partstrain.com for $245 that might be another option that won't rust like the powder coated one might.

Do you know if the rust is caused by bad construction or materials or simply the wearing away of paint/powdercoat? If that's the case i'm not worried, i can always touch up any scratches or dings...plus i might paint or coat w/ a rhino lining type product.

I think you'd be better off using something like Rhino Lining or a product called POR 15. Its dang near bulletproof from what I've heard.
