just curious to know if anyone has these tyger side steps that look like sliders?

saw these but was unsure about them. if anyone has them how do you like them etc?

I have not seen anyone here run those but its a big place. A lot run N-Fabs if they are going the step vs. slider route. No idea how the price between then compares but the N-fabs look like they would be better for a step as the step hangs down vs. those which are built to look like a slider (not function) and I will say that while my sliders can be used as steps they really are not good at it, its a very high step on a narrow edge.

Personally, the stars would be a non starter for me

I picked up a set off amazon for 220 a few weeks ago - they are in the warehouse waiting to get thrown on but construction is busy in Chicago summers haha

They look well built and better than I expected. I got them to bridge the gap till winter when hopefully I get some welding coaching

If you want pics I can snap some tomorrow, hopefully toss them on while I'm there

Main reasons to buy were for the step and to hide the bits of undercarriage the lift exposed

I just put a set on my GF's SR5, they connect to the body and work well as steps but wouldn't cut it for sliders. Ill try to get a photo tomorrow.

Save the $200 and apply it to some real sliders. Unless you don't ever need sliders then go for it. Nothing wrong with being a mall crawler

I got them last week. Was leaning REAL hard on getting sliders, but then I realized that I'll probably never go down a trail where I have any real danger of hitting the rocker, at least until this truck is much older and not my primary driver.

They are pretty tall, but I like that they stick out and protect from door dings. Plus $220 delivered was much easier on the wallet than the $800 I was looking at for sliders.

As for looks, I like these better than pretty much everything else. Personal preference.

Here you go! Really well built based on weight and attention to detail and the finish is really nice, finally can access crap on the roof easy.


I tried to get a pic of how far they stick out, more than I was expecting but solid room to stand/put your feet sitting sideways with the door open.:beer:

Those look nice, and will work great if you'll never need sliders but if you ever plan to lift your truck using sliders w/ a hi-lift makes it easy to jack up when you need to.

There are a lot of slider options for the 5th gen that are just bolt on - they bolt directly to the frame through existing holes.

I have them and i love them , They come in handy with my lift pretty good for the city protects my doors from dings too.

Yes totally aware of the options out there - I am going to make my own set thus winter in the shop I want slim profile to the rockers with tall steps by the doors. I put stuff up top a lot

To each his own... I have no reason to throw my opinion in the mix... but...

If I walked out of a store and saw that truck I'd be like "Cool! I wonder what brand those sliders are!" and then upon a quick visual inspection I'd just be disappointed in the owner.

In my opinion the best/cleanest looking steps are the Rigid OEM Trail running boards, and being plastic they may be a bit less likely to destroy the rocker/body of the vehicle if they are ever pushed up by some road debris or trail trash. These fake sliders look like they are stout enough do an excellent job of destroying the main body tub if hit with decent force.

However, I feel the same way about all the fake three-piece wheels and simulated beadlocks out there.

I get it that sliders are built for protection but frankly there aren't many trails in my area that bashing the rockers is a huge concern. People out here tend to get skids first to protect the areas with the least clearance- all of which get pricey fast.

Is there any options under 400 for sliders with steps to confidently access the roof in the winter? Most I've seen look like footing in hunting boots may not be ideal

Those look great !!! My wife wanted steps, as the T4R is taller than her Grand Cherokee. Mine arrive Wednesday (should hopefully compliment the TRD wheels)

I had them for a day. They looked like everyone else’s pics so no reason to post more pics of the same thing. I sent them back I didn’t like the big tube, hammer finish, or the drop support tube. Very solid though. I went with shrockworks. More money but I’m happier.
