True Flow XDI came in for my V6!

So...I'm getting ready to purchase the True Flow XDI for my beloved 2006 4Runner...it deserves an upgrade..

EDIT: They also sell on Ebay...so 277 comments 100% positive, have their own store and been a member since 2005. Seems legit.

Just an update: I went ahead and placed the order over at Grimm Performance. I would have gone with Jason B's place, but damn I simply couldn't pass up free shipping and a 10% discount special.

I will let you all know how it goes down with this place.

I will also show some pics of the new XDI system installed and give my opinion.

Just got my True Flow XDI in from Grimm Performance! I got a great deal:

Sorry guys, I've been so busy with stuff, completely forgot I even had this post.

I'll give a super brief explanation right now:

Pros: Gain in HP and torque can be felt, Gas mileage went up by 2! Increases on the freeways as well. I drive like a bat out of hell sometimes too.

Very happy with this product on the V6 and also very happy with Grim Performance, they delivered, FAST, and I paid a great price for it all.

Cons: Some vibrations and a definite increase in volume from the engine area. Can be very lout at the lower RPM range, especially going up a hill.


I expected it would be like that so I do not have a beef against the product. When I lay in to the pedal the intake growls very loud. At idle and casual relaxed driving, it sounds literally close to stock.

unleashing the beast only occurs when a WOT.

I'll try and get more updates in here when the time is right.

Really? After living with it for a few more days is it really that much better? I'm getting about 18.5-19.5 avg now (using a calculator). To throw it over 20 would be awesome!

Where does it breathe from, the original into-the-fender hole?

i was getting about 17 before. On the freeway, it does nothing but increase from 19.1 to as high as 20 and up. So it would appear that the intake did have some influence on the overall gas mileage.

No, it does no use the stock location for air intake. Infact I wouldn't even call it a Cold air intake. The air it is sucking in seems to be coming from the under draft within the engine compartment. The air most likely heated somewhat because the air has to pass by the engine before it gets to the actual intake.

:bigok: Thanks. I am blown away that it helped the mileage. I understand easy breathing intakes helping power and mileage to an extent when a car is driven hard or towing. That's awesome that it's helping you that much.
