Anyone installed the partznet.com Homelink?

How extensive is the installation of the Homelink garage opener? I forgot to ask for this accessory when I was ordering my 4Runner, and would like to put one in if it's not too much trouble.

Piece of cake... Takes 1 minute to install and 2 minutes to program...

Do it, you won't regret it......

To remove the old one, just place your fingers up in between the front of the upper console unit and the headliner (up by the windshield), then pull down.. it will feel like you might break something but will eventually unclip. Some people lose the little metal clips up on the mounts but that didn't happen to me. Then just pull out the console unit and unplug the DIN.

Plug the new one in and pop it back into place...

Took me about 6 min. to install and program it with a rolling code opener.

My bigest problem was when I pull down the old unit, the 2 metal clips came off and got lodged in the steel framework of the roof. At the time, I had no idea where they flew to. Thought I was going crazy.

They are impossible to retrieve with your fingers due to the opening size. A small high strength magnet, superglued to the end of a small stiff wire retrieved them nicely for me.

The new unit comes with new clips but who wants the old clips rattling around in their roof.

I too lost one clip...never found it though...no noise so far. I think it's wedged someplace pretty good. My timeslip/gas mileage will suffer due to the unnecessary weight
