If our group started off at split mountain and headed towards the boulder, how long would that route be until we're forced to turn back? Would we be able to go to ocotillo svra after to get the most out of our day?

I don't put a whole lot of faith in weathermen or weather apps. It wasn't supposed to rain here today either, but I still got some on my way to work this morning. I'm betting we're good, but I'll still see what the radar has on it before leaving the house.

I went up fish creek and sandstone canyon and it took all together about three hours. We stopped a few times for some walking around and sight seeing. I think you can driver further up fish creek but not sure how far before it gets pretty rough.

I might make it out with you guys. Depends on my workload.

If you top off in temecula off hwy79 south its about 50 miles to the meet up, that would be the fastest way for you. Julian would be quite a bit out of your way

Yeah I was looking at the maps earlier trying to decide where to top off. Julian was just the closest place to the meetup point, but I should be good in Temecula.

Haven't been either, all I have is trail books and an atlas.

You might be able to get a cb/antenna from Fry's but you'd still need to run the cable and wiring to get it functional before tomorrow morning. I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as we can get some clear communication on what the actual plan is.

I've got the Midland 75-822 cb radio. It's a handheld and you can also hook it up to power/antenna from your rig. I just use it as a handheld right now, but it's nice to have the option.


Fry's has several models of handhelds if you really want one for tomorrow.

I know pretty much all the areas of Anza Borrego, most I have been to, some I have not. I can suggest ideas, but a trail leader I dunno.

I don't do CB, but I have a handheld ham, my mobile is not installed yet. I wire all day at work, and my own work is put off, haha.
