Anyone intimate with the evaporator case? 2005

I think I have correctly diagnosed a bad thermistor on a 2005 4runner. I just can't figure out how to get the old one out and replace it. The thermistor is just attached to a couple long wires and there seems to be some kind of plug holding them into the side of the evaporator case.

Thermistor is #6 in this picture

Looking for someone who has actually been hands on with the thermistor or evaporator case.
