Anyone know a good mechanic near San Diego?

I most likely have cracked head or failed head gaskets. I live in Escondido, CA. If anyone could recommend someone that would be great!

I wrote in your other thread... But, sounds like you aren't willing to do it yourself. If you are.. Bring your head to Kenyon's in PB, my family has been going there for valve jobs/head jobs since the 40's. They are the BEST in San Diego.

For a mechanic... I'd just Yelp one close to your house. Escondido has some good shops out there.

Yes. They have been very helpful putting up with my truck issues over the years. I am running strong and in for the long haul because of them.

Also, unlike the dealer or Firestone at the Truck Shop you can talk to the owner (who knows everything about these trucks) directly and he will give it to you straight.

For this issue you can expect to leave your truck for a few days so arrange for a ride ahead of time. They can probably drop you off if you will within 20 mins.

Those guys are the best for Toyotas for sure, but they are expensive! A little arrogant too but whatever. I went there once and they wanted to charge me $250 to run a diagnostics.

I don't know buddy, their prices are pretty hard to beat. They only charge $75 per hour for labor.

$250 for a diagnostics sounds off to me. I can't comment because whenever I bring my truck in it is so James's guys can fix something => I pay $0 inspection cost since they are going through with the work.

I had my steering rack replaced and there was no inspection charge but they did follow through with the parts and labor.

I take my ride to Mavrik Motorsports in Buena Park. Teddy owns the shop there, its a high performance shop but they do all maintence. When I was working at Axis Wheels he was the in house mechanic. Does great work at a more than fair price, and he is probably too honest for his own good. He came with me to check out Pancho (my 4Runner), I was very thankfull for the help when buying a used vehicle.

As far as I know "The Truck Shop" is the only Toyota truck specialty shop in San Diego.
