Anyone know if the Toyota platinum extended warranty is refundable?

I bought the extended warranty through Shawn at Palmiero Toyota in Meadville, PA like many others on the board. I've only have it for about 4 months and have not put any claims against it. Is it possible to cancel the warranty and get any money back say if I were going to trade the 4Runner in?

I got an extended warrenty when I bought mine used, but it was the Hondacare warrenty. About 2 months later I was looking ot over and didnt like it (1600 for 72 months/100k miles with $100 deductable) so I went back to the dealership and told them I wanted to return it. A couple weeks later I got a check for the amount. Look in the warrenty booklet to see if theres anything about returning it.

Yes, the toyota platinum warranties are refundable. I had one on my Tundra that I traded in last fall for my Runner and I was able to cancel and get a prorated refund. Funny thing was that I thought the proration would be back to the original in service date of the Tundra, but they only prorated it back to the date of purchase which was 2 years after the truck was in service.

You have to return the warranty directly to Toyota along with a letter. I think I called Toyota customer service to get the specifics.

They prorated the time when the car is still under the original factory warranty, what a rip off.
