I actually contemplated getting one a few months ago, But when I sat in one/drove a new one at the dealership, the rear visibility was TERRIBLE!!! Even through the side views, so what little faith I had about wanting one, went down the drain. On the positive side, I did like the drive train. 6 Speed manual tranny, rear locking diff, Nicely powered V6 (vs the earlier models), the interior is rugged so if anything spills or you take it trailing and get it muddy, there are no carpets to think about. Easy clean-ups.

Dude drivers can barely drive FJ's (I get cut off and merged into by them quite a bit), and you want to get one for a girl driver?..

I wheel with a couple and I am always surprised by how easily they climb obstacles that I struggle a bit on. Between the A-Trac and E-locker they are pretty capable off road.

Dude the FJ Cruiser is awesome...I drove one on and off road for over 5 years!

It's not a car or a pickup truck...You're not suppose to see behind you :jk:

You get used to it after driving a bit!

Now my wife did managed to take out the basketball pole in our driveway, but I don't blame the truck for that...:bash:

I now drive A 5th Gen Trail and love it :trophy:

I haven;t owned one, but my dad has. I absolutely loved that thing. We recently sold it. It was extremely capable off road right out of the box. Decently powered. I miss it. My dad since bought an F150...downgrade much? I drove it around quite often and never had problems with rear visibility, but we did have a back up camera on it. I would love to own one.

The 4Runner is much bigger and so is the back seating space not to mention the back reclining seat!

There was no cam on FJC's back in 2006 but I did install a Pioneer 7" LCD GPS rear cam system and rarely used the cam to back up, just looked twice when going in reverse.

The FJ Cruiser is or was in my opinion the best capable on and off road vehicle out of the showroom!
Even on stock tires and no lift the FJ could run circle around most other factory trucks

That was going to be my backup purchase if I couldn't find a 3rd gen that fit the bill. I like them. They have a good bit of power, good styling and a 6-speed. The visibility isn't good, but it's nothing worse than driving a truck with a canopy on it.

Ok... just kidding :bigok: Lets face it, there are some pretty great woman drivers out there; and yes, the FJ does provide its driving challenges, but IMHO inferring that a girl should not drive one because of those challenges is a little dramatic.:girl:

Jeep Rubicon?

Sorry dude the Jeep Rubicon "stock" is not that great out on the trails.

I rode in one in 2009 in the same OHV park I have taken my 4Runner, Hollister Hills, the Jeep was absolutely miserable to ride. Every single bump we hit resulted in clank after clank and the rear bumper bottomed out so many times. The owner loved it of course - he was like "jeeps are so awesome bro" and I just like "ok " I have driven that course in my 4Runner with SS 1.2 suspension and the differences were incredible - no clanks, no bottoming out just great. I know the mod'd Jeeps can be amazing on trail but the stock Rubicon (most expensive) was terrible on the trail.
