Yes but the Rubicon edition is pitched and sold to Jeep buyers as "trail ready" - it is not, I expected a lot more from it actually.

The Rubicon upgrade is something Jeep buyers pay $XXXX extra for so YES I would hope if could do a few basic hollister trails without clanking and sounding like it was about to fall apart.

I have a 3rd gen 4Runner, and my wife has a 2007 TRD FJCruiser. The main differences I've noticed:

1. Her truck has a lot more power than mine.
2. Visibility in the FJ is quite limited, but she got used to it. I never did.
3. The 4Runner has a ton more cargo space in the back.
4. Both trucks are very capable off road.

I'll take my truck over hers any day. (Just don't tell her that!)

There was no cam on FJC's back in 2006 but I did install a Pioneer 7" LCD GPS rear cam system and rarely used the cam to back up, just looked twice when going in reverse.

The FJ Cruiser is or was in my opinion the best capable on and off road vehicle out of the showroom!
Even on stock tires and no lift the FJ could run circle around most other factory trucks

yep. our was on a kenwood 6.5", not stock. I don't remember anything else about the camera

Finally took the leap a few weeks ago. I decided I could not live with the red interior of the 2012 TT FJ, but when the 2013 TT came out. :wow:

Our two Toyotas...one with 200,000 miles and one with about 400 miles.

We have a 2007 FJ and a 2003 4Runner. I wheel with both groups. Each vehicle has its vices. If I had to pick one over the other it would be difficult choice.

As soon as I saw the cement color in person, I was sold. I love the red exterior of the 2012 TT, but the red dash plate, red steering wheel cover, red door inserts, red seat inserts...it was a little overwhelming for me and just was not my style. Compare that to the subdued look of the 2013.

If I lived in Idaho such as IdahoAngler does, or Montana, or such, the newest FJ would be my car of choice. Very rugged and capable. But the lack of rear visibility is the deal killer for me. That, and having to make a car payment each month.

My mom owns a 2009 FJ Cruiser. Its black with the white roof. Though I will admit that rear visibility might pose a challenge for some people, all four drivers at my home including myself have gotten used to it. My sister even drives it with the seat reclined towards the back. Overall, it's a great rig. Awesome power, great fuel mileage and the interior more than suits our needs. I've taken it up to 113 mph and it actually felt quite stable for a large vehicle. The roof rack is one of my favorite details. Super strong and can carry just about anything we've needed to haul. Anything from Christmas trees, piping, wood boards, even a couple of mattresses. Trying to convince my mom to let me mod it a bit It almost became my rig but things changed. Still, I wouldn't change my 3rd gen for anything other than a 4th or 5th gen T4R.

Love the exterior look and power of the FJ. The only thing that bothers me is the interior gives me too much plasticky feeling when I get in one.
