My milege is way down and I have no cel. I'm thinking my 3rd cat is bad due to more smell than usual.

maybe I'm just a newb...but 21.2 avg mpg in a body-on-frame brick with a large displacement V6 doesn't seem too terribly bad...

id kill for 21.2 on my readout. So in reality its around 18.2 but still. Im averaging 16.

I'm going to check it manually when I fill up. That was just one day no wind straight hwy. I probably avg 16-17 hwy and 13-14 all in town.

That would seem pretty low since EPA says 17/21 for the 4x4 v6...what about air filter, tire pressures, alignment, etc.?

I'd go with that stuff before I worried about a cat or plugs.

Fuel filter shouldn't be a problem since it's in tank, unless you run it below a quarter regularly.

that may be, but it would appear that since your mileage is looking to be correct, the 3rd cat can't be causing any issue...

I would imagine so long as there's no O2 behind the 3rd cat you can probably yank it without a problem, or get a simulator/spark plug non fouler to trick the rear O2 once you remove it and the truck will run fine.

I was changing fluids this morning and notices the exhaust y is like .5 at the junction. I wil have them do a 2 into 1 and make a y from the cats. My g35 was just like that
