Anyone put a small LED light bar here?

Directly under the headlights there is a 10" X 1.75" metal piece that looks easily removed and would leave a nice gap about the size of a small LED bar. Just curious if anyone has used this spot before, I think I have seen it done but can't remember where I saw a pic of it.

I really like the clean look of the bumper and would rather not add clutter to it so the idea of a light bar on each side that could be mounted flush with the headlights is kind of interesting. The flat portion of the bumper extends under that area so a solid mounting surface is already there.

That's what I was wondering about, but it seems like a perfect spot for a 10" bar so hoping to find a pic or two to see how it looks.

Thanks! I really like the lights [MENTION=43196]4runit[/MENTION] did below the projectors. However I want something brighter than DRL's so I wonder if they do that same size with high lumen bulbs. Now that I see yours I'm definitely looking at that location as well - looks sharp.

In preparation for a front bumper build, I'll be putting my turn signals in that spot. I'll be using LEDs and probably some white polycarbonate to diffuse the light more solidly over just a bunch of LEDs. Been working on this off and on for awhile so when I make some meaningful progress I'll start my own thread.

That spot is great for lights and with LEDs being made smaller, brighter, and compact I'm sure that will become a popular spot to put LEDs.

They aren't light bars, but I do have cheap Walmart LED lights there. Now that I've seen this, I think it's time to replace them with actual light bars

Looks like you already had the right idea,,please PM me if you find a good fitting bar. I'm ready to do this now after seeing some pics.

I installed some LED's there, hooked them up to the parking light circuit.

Very nice! i just marked where the light's where on mine and drilled the holes, then cleaned up the edges with a Dremel.

Now i just need to fix the ugly body gap i made when i installed my BL.....

Did you get these installed? Please post a pic or two if you did, I really want to do this, but can't seem to find the right size bar other than DRL's and I was looking for regular bright off road LED's.

I just saw that - pretty cool, but I'm looking for a little more lumen output so I don't have to put a regular light bar on the bumper or roof. I really don't need too much more light, just enough to fill in a couple darker spots.

it looks like they don't sell them anymore... just take the metal strip under the headlight off (1 bolt) after removing the grille, mark where the lights are, drilled the holes (slowly and gently!) then clean up the edges if you want. Some put the lights on a separate switch, but i've got enough switches, and they draw so little power a relay is pointless.

This is about the closest I have seen, the hight is just right but 1-2" too narrow.
