Anyone REALLY use the DBL Decker cargo system

Yes, I find it useful, and in the down position it doesn't take up much space either. Several people have had some creative ways of utilizing it. Here is one thread for instance:

I have used mine a couple of times to transport fragile items, so you almost have twice the floorspace. Catering and flower arrangements are examples, where you cant stack it.

I just picked up my new '05, and it has the cargo deck, so I'm interested in how others are using theirs. I imagine I'll use mine in the "down" position for the most part. 
On a related note, I've been asking here in the Accessories forum about mats that work with the cargo deck. In particular, the mat that came standard doesn't have holes in it so the cargo deck can "lock down". Does anyone know if Toyota sells a different mat that has such holes? Since I just bought the 4Runner, I'm pretty sure the dealer will switch out the mat if I can identify an alternative that is designed for use with the cargo deck.

NO USE WHATSOEVER...
Most men's stuff is too big or bulky to put on top or under the decker. Plus you gotta move the pad when the thing's in different position. Too much useless work. Be a man and stuff the cab. everything over everything under everything

I thought it was pretty neat when I first saw it, but I've had the Runner almost a year now, and I don't think I've used it more then once.
It is sort of a pain to lift it up and down, and what always happens to me is, when I try and lift it, it gets caught on the cargo net. So I have to move the netting out of the way, lift it up. The mean time, I have whatever I want to put back there, in my other hand.

Same as someone posted above, I thought it was kickass when I first saw the truck, but 2 years to date and I can't remember using it.....except to see how it worked.
When it's down, I find the little drop off it makes to the tailgate is kinda shitty. I had my reciever/trailer ball floating around in the back, it got caught between the DD and tailgate. When I opened the gate, the thing fell out and almost took off my toe haha....

I have the spider net up on the cargo shelf to hold my "random crap" and keep it from sliding around. I like to use the DD to keep other items from rolling on top of random crap and vice versa. Sometimes you have items you just don't want sitting on top of each other (grocery bag with eggs, etc) and the DD is a good way to guarantee nothing will roll on a particular item.

I agree it hasn't been much use.
However, I did discover that when the DD is up, there is a hidden space the runs the width of the cargo area, right in front of it...
For example, with the DD up, go to the back door on the driver's side, and lean the seat back forward. You will seed that there is a "secret spot".
Kinda cool, huh?
I have used the DD on ski trips. Put all the boots under the DD and have your bags and backpacks on top. Easy access for the back seat riders.
