Anyone Removed the Doors?

Anyone done this? If so, are there quick disconnects for the electronics on the fronts? How about the backs? Thanks!

Usually the doors, when closed, are important to the overall structure of a vehicle. Removing them and driving may not be the best idea. Our 4Runners are body on frame, so this may not be as big an issue. I'd certainly do some research before losing the doors and taking it off road.

The doors don't provide any structural support or rigidity. They do provide passenger protection in the event of a crash, however. Being a Jeep owner as well I say take them off.

Lol I'm going to take them off, I was just wondering if there are quick disconnects already installed like the FJ has for it's front doors. I guess over spring break I'll take a look and see if they are already there, or if I have to splice them in, then once summer gets around here in full swing (it's still cold here in Tally at night sometimes), then I'll pull 'em and ride it for a few days. If I like it, I might make some tube doors for it.

Structurally, I'm not too concerned, because this would be more of an on-road, summer cruising kinda deal. Off road in FL, you need your doors (water/mud issues), so there won't be anything off camber without the doors. And as one of you mentioned, it is a BOF truck, so it's not nearly as much of an issue (I'd imagine). I'll let you guys know when I do it and post pics, but in the mean time, if anyone knows the answer to my question, please chime in!

Check your local laws. I know up here in WA jeeps can run with no doors because there is still about a 4 inch lip to keep thinks from rolling out. If your rig dosent have
That when the doors are remover your not legal.

Thanks greenmonkey, I didn't know that, and it's certainly something to think about. I wonder if I could just put some kind of barrier there for now, and later, if I do tube doors, just have that built in. Honestly I don't think they'll give me problems here in FL (the don't seem to care about much anywhere in FL but Naples and Boca Raton), but it's always good to know that kind of stuff.
