Anyone running 285s or larger on JBA UCA?

Upgrading to KO2 285s from 275s and wanted to know if anyone was running anything larger with JBA UCAs? I know JBA has a fitment sheet and I contacted them directly (they are top notch), and according to them I should be good to go.

Not all tires are the same... My 275 coopers are wider than my 285 coopers. My 275/60/20 tires on Limited 20" wheels do not fit without spacers with the JBA UCAs. My 285/75/17's on Trail wheels do fit without rubbing. I modified the UCA's slightly to make either fit with or without spacers by cutting a small amount of material off where it rubs. So this will depend on your wheels and your tires some. I think most 285's on OEM 17" wheels should fit just fine.

285/70/17 - 285-75-17 - 275/60/20 (yeah, the Toyo AT2's run a bit on the small side, the AT3's are a bit narrow and/or the HT-Plus are a bit wider than spec.)

I’m running SCS Ray 10s 17x8.5, 4.3 BS -10mm offset with 285 KO2s....I’m almost positive I will be clear, and only need fender mod. My alignment shouldn’t need to be redone as well.

295/70/17 STT Max, no rub at all. Previous ran 285/70/17 Ridge Grapplers for 2 years, no rub.

Just bought an 5th gen sr5 that came with new ko2's in 285 55 r20, on metal mayhem custom wheels; they look great; totally change the look of the vehicle making it a pimped out rapper gansta look. It wouldn't have been my first choice for tires and wheel setup; not good for off roading. I'll in the future go for a 75 series in a thinner LT tire. Also had BFG ko's on my ol 2k path-y they wore way too fast.

It also came without front mud flaps; no rubbing but much flinging of leaf detritus on running boards and side of vehicle this fall; so added those little bottom mud flaps now I get rubbing when turning ... sigh; its minimal but there's an muffled rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr there on fuller turns at lower speeds....

I think you can push the liner back to make a little more room; one day ...

Ran Falken Wildpeak P285/70r17 with FN Fx Pro wheels on stock SR5. Fender trimmed and liner moved up. Removed front mud guards. Experienced some rub on body mount full lock on one side. Just installed Icons extended and JBA UCAs over the weekend. No rub at all.

JBA are very dependent on the backspace of your wheel. They have a pretty wide fin on them. Also his recommendation for wheel backspace to ensure clearance on his site. I have JBA and no gripes.

I have a set of FN Pro wheels / 17X8, with 4.5BS and 0mm offset. Trying to determine if a 285/70 will clear the JBA UCA?

Why not go with a 285/75R17 KO2?? The 285/70R17 is not much different in height than a 275/70R17.

I run 285/70/17 ko2's with JBA UCA high casters on method nvs .. Only rub was on my bodymount but no issues with the UCAs on or in off-road parks

I ran Cooper AT3 285s on JBA high caster UCA's with spacers and only had rub on the body mount/ mud flaps.. no issues with the UCA's

I have the same setup as you just different tire (ridge grapplers) and it cleared with no issue

Spacers on the trail wheels with 285's will need the fender liner mod and the removal of front mud flap!

Definitely won't need a BMC, especially if you are running the high caster JBA's! Any good alignment tech should be able to keep your caster pretty far + and away from your body mount.
