Anyone running hawk pads?

Truck is pulling left on braking....think the caliper is done. Might as well do the TBU. Piecing my system together and trying to decide on pads. I currently have the Hawk LTS and slotted cryo rotors on my Gen 2 Tundra. It stops AWESOME. Way better than it did stock. Stops my 7500 lb camper great as well.

Well, I want that stopping power on my 4R. Wondering if the LTS is too much pad for the "light" 4R though. Right now I have like no stopping. I know I need to adjust the rear a bit, but with the pull, I think the calipers have to go anyways.

Thoughts?

Per the Tundra upgrade and after 30,000 miles my Hawks still stop well but have gotten noisy in the last 5,000 miles. Little to no dust.

Next ones will be from Performance Friction or OEM.

If you like them then get them.

I like em on my truck, which weighs quite a bit more than the 4R

I have the Hawk HPS pads on my 4runner. They work well. A little dusty, but no noise.

the HPS are a lighter duty than the LTS. Do you think the 4R would benefit from a more aggressive pad than the HPS? I do find the operating temp of the LTS to be a little higher than most pads. I have a hard time stopping at the first two stop signs when leaving in the mornings :bowl: Also when it's really cold out (sub freezing). Otherwise they are fantastic on the larger Tundra.

They do groan a little when creeping forward but I think that's an inherit design of the Tundra from what I have read.

HPS or LTS? I see they have a new model out as well now, the Street 5.0 pads

I am a little spoiled by my Golf R and Tundra braking now that anything less feels like I am going to plow into the guy in front of me.

Don't worry about the weight. Stopping power is not one of those things to be shy about. As big of a power and go fast junkie as I am, good brakes are still the best upgrade out there.

Yes, I think if I replaced them again I'd try out the LTS. I only got the HPS because I had them in my last car (Eclipse) and loved them. I didn't know they had LTS pads until after I purchased the HPS.

They have been on there for 5 years so I can't remember.

As much as I like the Hawk pads if I didn't get them for $20 from a friend I would have looked to PF or OEM as mentioned before.

All the Hawks I have run (HPS & HP+) have been a bit on the noisy side. But if you like them on your tundra, go for it. No such thing as too much pad as long as it will be used in the intended operating temperature range.

I have literally trusted my life to Hawk Pads. I am a track day instructor. They have stopped me time and time again from speeds in excess of 160mph. I ran Hawks on every car I've owned. I would get the LTS. Or Hp+ if they have an application
