Anyone running LT245 75 17s or any other E rated tires?

Tire topics are, well, tiresome but a search revealed way too many threads. I was really hoping to go to a 10" wide and 31.5" (or so) size tire and LT245/75/17s are coming up. Basically a little narrower & taller while hoping to keep the weight to a minimum.

Is anyone running this particular size? My rig is stock so around 4700lbs and running E rated tires gives me pause. Not trying to start any kinds of debate here, just looking for real life experience.

I run e rated 255/75/17s. They are heavy, my mpg certainly took a hit after putting them on. I probably lost 3-4 mph, although I mounted them shortly after a lift so that probably had an impact on mpgs as well.

i have E rated goodyear duratracs on my '03 in 265/70/17 - 31.6"

put them on 2.5yrs ago and 25k on them- wearing like iron and im very pleased overall w them..they are on the stiff side and heavy of course and def hit my gas mileage but i have no regrets

its hard to have weight savings in mind when you're buying E rated rubber

I should mention that mine are wearing pretty well too. I've got about 76k miles on them and will probably be able to close out the summer before I really need to get new tires. I've rotated all 5 pretty religiously every other oil change, or 10k miles.

255/75/17 duratracs for me. They were way cheaper in this size, but I got p rated..didn't want or need an lt heavier stiffer tire.

I'm leaning towards the P rated tires for the best fuel economy. I have a rock crawler 80 series so I can leave this rig alone....for now :tongue:

I am tempted to go with the 255 75R17 but that's a 1.5" larger than what came with my rig, 265 65R17, which is not very appealing to me at this time. I'm not sure if they'd rub with my 1" over stock lift using FJC suspension but I'd tired of the inaccurate speedo and transmission shifting out of the torque curve.

So, to that end, I'm currently leaning toward 255 70R17, a tad narrower and tad taller than stock. Looks like my choices are Falken Wild Peak A/T, Hankook ATF, Cooper A/T3 and Bridgestone Revo II - all P rated. I'll see if Duratracs come in this size and P rating.

If anyone of you are running any of the aforementioned tires, please let me know your thoughts. Seems like the A/T3 adn Duratracs are getting the nod so far.
