Anyone running the Cooper AT3-XLT tires yet?

Been shopping for a replacement for my Toyo's and while getting an alignment and a local shop I saw the XLT's. I was very impressed on the specs and their aggressive build however they have only been out a few weeks so not much feedback on them yet. What I did find was pretty encouraging as an all around tire that has a quiet ride as well. Feedback?

They have been out for a few months to be exact. So far lots of positive reviews I've seen so far. I plan to buy them for my Tacoma though. The 4Runner already has ST Maxx waiting to get mounted.

I've had mine for about 4 months now. Went from 265 C-rated BFG KO2's to 285 AT3 XLT. Big upgrade IMO. Quieter, better road manners, balance well and off-road performance is good. I've tested it in Moab and took Top of the World in the rain and it didn't slip once. Also went on Onion Creek and Thompson Canyon in wet slop and mud as well and it handled good for an AT. Can't recommend these tires enough. We'll see how they handle the Utah snow and ice but the previous AT3 had high regards in that area. My only concern is the 2-ply sidewall vs 3-ply on the BFGs. Other than that the AT3 XLT is a better overall AT tire. Highly recommend them.

These will be replacing my current AT3's in another 20-30k. My current AT3's have handled everything I've thrown at them and these look like an improvement.

They have 285/75... technically tall and somewhat skinny. But not a 255/80 fo sho.

So the 285/70R/17 is E rated (55 lbs vs. 51 for C rated KO2s), so does 2 ply really matter? Load is obviously going to be carried by the sidewall so wouldn't the 2 plies be thicker anyway so same difference as if it was a 3 ply C rated tire? Thus the reason for the additional weight?

That is a nice looking AT tire. The tread is AT but the side wall looks MT. Also the black side wall is also nice looking too.

I am looking to replace my BFG Rugged terrain 275/55-20 that came stock on my XP wheels.

Since the BFG Rugged T's are discontinued I am leaning toward the XLT Coopers.

If The 3" lift goes on with the tax return the XLTs also come in a 265/60-20

Thanks, this is the kind of info that matters. Btw, Thompson Canyon is the the most disappointing trail I have driven in the area. The hill on the Onion Creek side looks inviting and fun but the scenery beyond that is rather mediocre by Moab standards until one gets to Polar Mesa, which is nice. I love Onion Creek because in rainy/snowy weather can have phenomenal colors.

They have to release more sizes, I would think. They list only a handful of sizes right now. That does not look right unless they think of it as a specialty tire of sorts?

Probably but they're still essentially the same tire.

I'm interested to see what the long term review of these will be. Every set of Cooper Discoverers that I've ever had developed flat spots after 35,000-40,000 miles. Didn't matter if I was rotating the tires every 3k, 5k, or 7k.
The last set I had on a Frontier got so bad that new squeaks and rattles started occurring in the cab of the truck. Replaced them with some Michelin's and it was like I was driving a different truck.

Every set of BFG All Terrains I've had experienced belt separation before the tread was worn and they never made it past 40K miles. However, they do handle the snow quite well.

Now the Cooper AT3s are going 60K miles and they also handle the snow.

I think you have just convinced me to go with the XLT's

I am thinking the 256/60-20 for an OD of 32.5 ( my limited will be lifted
