Switched to Cooper discoverer ST Maxx. They feel way more planted in the wet but are way louder on the street then the K02.

Second this. Love the AT3's.
A guy who works in teh same building as I do has the stock sized Maxx tires and they look awesome. I would have bought them but didnt really want E rated tires. Good looking tire.

Went with P. Was a little iffy at first but after digging through the Wildpeak thread and speaking with several people who have been running them. Everyone says they hold up just fine offroad.
I spent the past 3 days on some pretty tight and gnarly (lots of sticks/small logs/rocks and mud) terrain in the Ozark Mountains and they handled and held up great.

Comparing KO2's to ST Maxx, the BFG's have slightly softer sidewall and are quieter. By softer I mean more flexible. I'd imagine they'd do better in the rain and snow due to their increased siping but I never got a chance to test that. Put about 2k miles on them on a truck I owned for a very short while, I did have a solid week in Utah wheeling on them though. I'd consider the KO2 a slightly more street biased tire than the Cooper but both are top tier all terrrains so, as long as that's the category of interest, there isn't much of a difference.
I personally lean towards Cooper because they're often a better value and I rest in comfort knowing it's on their mud terrain carcass, I have a tendency to do bad things to tires.

Is there anything that you've found lacking in the BFG's? I've had my 265/70/17 C-rated and have about 50k on them and have taken them through the rainy weather of south florida, Alabama, and now Utah. It's survived a few trips to Moab, local trail runs, and a Park City winter. It's handled everything that I've asked without a hiccup. Noise is very tolerable and it rotates well. I'll eventually move on from them since I want a C-rated 285 which only leaves the Nitto Ridge Grapplers but I can't say anything bad about them honestly and have only had a good experience.

I've never gone with the K02. The price is not something I'm interested in. I've had General Grabber AT2 in the past and currently on an F250. Much better priced and function just as good.
When my '17 needs tires The Grabber AT2 and Cooper AT3 will be on the short list.
People get all bend out of shape over tires and oil. Every tire wears out and costs money to replace. If your tires are a fashion statement, get what is trendy and looks good to you. Is a worn out BFG better than a different worn out tire?
Otherwise, there are great options that won't break the bank. Cooper, General and Falken are all good.

I’m not sure if the question was directed to me the OP or a prior poster. I’ll answer though...I have the KO2ks now and I’m thinking about replacements soon I wanted the opinions of others who had done the same. That’s also why I indicated in the initial post my driving habits/use.

The KO2’s have been great. Quiet on the road and totally capable off-road. I would definitely buy again.

I have the KO2s LT275/70R/17. I have 30k miles on them and am pretty happy. I went the LT route because I use it off road and wanted the increased sidewall strength. They do ride rougher and suck the crap out of my MPG because they weigh so much but overall I'm pretty happy. They seem to have worn pretty good over the 30k miles. I have had Goodyear duratracs on my previous 4runner and I liked them as well. I had them in a normal passenger tire rating so they weighed significantly less than the KO2 and I also had them in stock 265 size. My MPG was a little better. I wheeled them as well and never had any issues with sidewall damage. I can say that regardless of what tire you go with if you are interested in upping the size to the 275s there are no rubbing issues that you would encounter if you went up to the 285.

I currently have the KO2’s in LT285/70/17 E rated...CBI front bumper so no rubbing. I have no context for differences in mpg...but with the bumper, rack, ladder, winch, 285 tires etc. I clearly don’t care about mpg.
