Anyone tow w/ a 4 cylinder 4Runner?

Or is this just a bad idea?
All Im interested in is towing a light weight trailer (1200 pounds) w/ two ATVs ( roughly 400 pounds each ) -
This isnt a must, we already have a truck to do this but looking at saving on gas...
Thoughts?

You'll notice a power loss but it will handle it without issue. I used to tow a lot more than that with my 4 cylinder Tacoma.

Ive used my 00' 4 banger to move a whole bunch of people, dragging a 5x10 trailer. Both the truck and trailer loaded to the gills. It drags up steep hills in 5th gear, but no issues otherwise. You'll have no problems.

I dunno sometimes I wish I had someone to tow me around, it struggles to push itself! But it dosen't help that I have bigger tires and I am too cheap to regear.
