Surely someone out there has ordered this kit by now right???? I've almost pulled the trigger a few times but don't wanna be the guinea pig.
Anyone tried a TJM 2" lift?

I almost bought this last night. The only thing that gave me pause was some info on TJM's website regarding the rear springs used. The regular rear coil spring says "constant load-150kg" (roughly 330lbs), while the heavy duty say "constant load-250kg"(551lbs). I'm not planning on a rear bumper or hauling a ton of gear. I'm going to do more research and see how this compares to other coil options out there first.

It would be sweet if toytec could run a half off sale on this kit for a week or two just to get a few out in to the market. This is the type of kit that many are after. No mess, no fuss - buy one kit and be done. Enough lift for 285's but still should be able to get the wheels aligned. It would be nice to see what actual lift is realized after install though..
What you need to do is keep the TJM toytec page open on your ipad tonight and just keep drinking until you say "f-it" and click buy...

I could fit 285's on OEM suspension with very minimal rubbing. I know you can do it with 5100's @ 1.75". All need the liners moved forward, but still shouldn't be a problem on factory wheels.
TJM stuff is good quality, but $300 better than bilstein? Probably not...
For $400 you can do 4 bilstien 5100's front @ 1.75" and a pair of daystar 1.5" rears. Here are the rears cheaper than toytec or wheelers. Amazon seems to have the best price on them & free shipping. http://amzn.to/1o9SIVn

I guess the question then becomes do you want spacers in the rear or new coils? And not that aesthetics would EVER factor into a decision made by a rational beer drinking grown a$$ man such as myself but..... Those yellow coils look pretty cool.

This is the other option I'm considering. The only problem I'm having is the 1.75" setting with the 1.5" spacer in back seems to give just a slight bit more rake than I would like. Conversely, with the 2.5" setting up front and the 1.5" spacer in rear, there is a slight negative rake.
I read a post last night where a guy "machined down" the daystar spacer 3/8" of an inch or so to get the rake just right. He did not say exactly what machining down the spacer entailed though.. If I could shave off 3/8" or a 1/2" off that daystar easily enough, I would probably go that route.

Most people on this forum see 1" out of the 1.5" daystar spacer.

That's kind of apples and uh half apples, the TJM kit is complete with longer springs and what you are talking about is buying Bilstiens and spacers... Of course it's cheaper. The Bilstien kit with longer springs is over $900. I like Bilstiens but you are paying for some name recognition.

Seeing the bill from spring break at Disney made me hesitate....... Come on tax return!!!!!!!
so I had ordered the 5100's and daystar 1.5 spacer for my 4runner and got an e-mail from wheelers saying the 5100's are on back order for a while. Then i just came across this. My original intention was 5100's all around and daystar 1.5 in the rear, 1.75 in the front. Do you guys think this would be a better option? My main concern and why I wanted adjustable in the front is the 4runner a** sag. Personally I don't like that look. Anyone know if this kit is designed to raise the front and the rear 2 in each which would maintain the stock rake or does it just make it a level 2 inches? Any input on all this would be appreciated.

Thats the big question right now - no one knows. And no one wants to be the first one to put it on to see...
I'm hoping for 2" to 2-1/2" up front and 1" to 1-1/2" in the rear.

TJM hasn't been in North America that long relatively speaking. I think if you want to find reviews you need to check some Australian websites. Since they don't have the 4Runner just check reviews from FJC owners since it's going to be the same shocks. Probably find that they're quite comparable to an OME setup since ARB is their main competitor.
