Anyone Tried This Shock Disassembly Method?

I know this is reviving an old thread but I just used this method to change out my Tundra springs for OME 883s (with Rough Country Nitro 9000 shocks). It was easy and fast. I didn't loosen the lower control arm bushings. I pulled the 4 bolts on the ball joint and took off the nut from the sway bar link. I put the bottle jack between the frame and lower control arm (on the sway bar mount) to push it down enough to get the shock back in. No problems. Took about 20 minutes a side. Nothing came flying out (and I don't see how it could).
