Anyone try these bulb replacements instead of an 06 light swap?

I'm contemplating installing LEDs in the interior and for the registration plate I was thinking about the other exterior bulbs as well. I'm not interested in swapping in the '06 LED lights in my '04 but I'm curious to see if anyone has tried the "star" LED bulbs like this, and if they work well? At 3" across I wonder if they might be too wide for the lenses.

Definitely go with the 06+ LED tails, they will last much longer and plus they look 100x better than the 03-05 pinkish tail lights.

Anyway, I'm not too concerned about looks, I mean I never look at the tail lights, but by all means if you are behind me and it bothers you feel free to donate to the cause.

I just thought those LED bulbs might help out with the brightness factor at a reduced cost.

Ha ha! After having my 4Runner for 4 months I suddenly notice the pink or mauve lights and it started driving me nuts. I got some black JDM tail lights used and like them much better. I actually think I like them better than the 06 LED's but that's just my personal taste. They look a little more interesting to me is all. I've thought of dropping some slightly brighter LED's in there as well though - that and some chrome or led turn signal lights to hide the yellow.

haha I think fosheezy is the one that put the LED bug in my ear in the first place after he upgraded the tails in his 3rd gen. One of the top mods Ive done. The rearend looks 100x better!
