Anyone try Yokohama Geolandars?

The rating on Tire Rack is impressive. Are they really that good?

BTW, they are coming out with sizes to fit the 4th gen 4runners the first half of '05.

I have ran two sets, one on a 99' taco and another on an 03' runner...great tire, one of my favorite all around tires on the market. you cant go wrong with em!

The set I had only lasted 30K miles. Otherwise an ok tire.

It really depends on which Geolandar model you run. I had the GO52 on my last truck and they were great - good ride and noise comfort, excellent wet traction. A good friend of mine has the OEM Geolandars (I think it's the GO38 or GO39) on his piece of #$%^ Montero and they are truly terrible.

But with any Yoko tire, it's been my experience that the treadwear is awful. They wear out more quickly than any other tire I've had, ever.

I had the AT+II, awesome tire, wet dry or in snow, I had such good grip in snow I could drive uphill in 2H, that was on my Pathfinder, they even improved my handling and braking in snow.

They where on my Pathfinder for 15k before I got rid of it, should have kept them cause they looked brand new, no wear except for my tire spinning, but I had no one to give them to and the 4Runner was 17 not 16, and I just hope the owner enjoys them.

I had Geo AT +II's on the Jeep GC that I traded in on the T4R. They only
had about 5000 mi on them so somebody got a deal.

They seemed to be sloppy in their handling and they were noisy.
The noise peaked at 40mph and they were quiet at 55 to 60 and
then got louder the faster you went.

Really never gave them a good workout off road. Don't think I would
buy them again.
