anyone use these LED fog lights in the 4th gen?

I haven't used those but I've been looking for some LED lights to use as DRL lights on my '04. I was thinking of getting some LED lights that are about 1" high and 6" wide to put in the grill and I got some off ebay that were supposed to be 5 Watts each but when I got them I found that they only had 8 little white LEDs across the front and were barely 1 Watt. These are so dim and weak you can barely see them in the daytime. They weren't even as bright as a $1 flashlight using 3 AAA cells that you can get at the Dollar store so watch out because LED lights are never as bright or powerful as the seller claims they are.

LED fog light bulbs are really only good for color matching some HID lows IMO.

If you are looking for output, go with a legit LED bar or an HID set up for the fogs

Yeah...but these are saying 700+ Lumens...that's pretty impressive. Now I know they probably won't compare to Rigid, but that's 700+ for a replacement is nothing to sneeze at.

I had some Rigids on my Tacoma and they were awesome....just can't afford that at the moment.

Yeah....you have to watch out for that ebay crap. Sounds like they were just using 5mm LEDs, which are old gen 1 ones.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt a standard halogen bulb ~1000 lumens? That being said, wouldnt those would be dimmer than the stock halogens? which didn't impress me at all for brightness. HID's are about 3000 lumens i think

If your looking to gain brightness then LED fog light bulbs is not the way to go. Even though they are rated at 700 lumens that is still less then a halogen bulb. Honestly if your looking for the best light output, I recommend getting a XenonDepot HID kit. The LED fog light bulbs are great if you want to match your HID low beams.
