Anyone use this rear diff cover? (Dorman 926-993)

Has anyone used this to repair their rear axle differential cover (Dorman 926-993)? Or any info on rear diff cover repair?

My rear axle diff cover now has pinholes from trying to weld on some DIY brake line and e-brake brackets. The rear diff cover steel was getting thin at the bracket locations, so I should have seen this coming. But I didn't and after chasing pinholes with the welder, I feel as though I have lost confidence in my rear axle's ability to retain fluid.

I know people use JB Weld, but I want a more permanent solution. Also I know people recommend the Barnes HD diff cover, but I just want an OEM style cover with the brackets and stock fluid capacity.

I doubt that will fit on with the lateral control arm as some of those weld on covers will not clear and you dont need that crashing into your ring gear so make sure it clears everything before welding it on.

Edit :

The above its the barnes4wd cover.. The dorman should fit. I would just verify everything clears. I have seen posts and thread elsewhere . That the cover hit the lateral control arm.

I welded one on yesterday. I was a little apprehensive ordering it considering the brand is Dorman but it ended up being little beefier than the stock cover. You will definitely want to remove your diff before cutting/ welding and probably remove your axle housing unless you have a lift to work under.

So the Dorman covers clear the lateral control arm. Great to know..
