Anyone using hitchsafe?

I purchased hitchsafe for my 2007 4runner and can't seem to get it to fit in the hitch opening. I thought it was an awesome lock that I can use while I go surf but... anyone used it before? I'm wondering if I can file or grind out the hitch opening little bigger to make it fit cuz I really don't wanna return it. Any ideas?

are you talking about the part that goes into the hitch's hole or the part that slides into the housing?

basically which part is rubbing?

lets say dust cover is 1

door of the combonation is 2

housing (sliding bars) is 3

square hitch hole is 4.

The housing itself does not fit in the truck's hitch opening. My guess is the hitch opening corners are too rounded for the square box housing to fit. I'm not sure if I can grind enough of the box to make it fit, it's kinda thin. Are you currently using one of these?

but i am always interested in modding things to make it fit.

My experience is that the Toyota OEM has rounded corners, such that I could not get an wd hitch installed in the mount and rather had to buy a Hidden Hitch which now works fine at it appears to have square corners.
