Anyone vinyl wrap their front and rear valence?

Pasti dip isn't a long term solution, and a professional paint job is expensive.

Has anyone had luck just throwing on some vinyl on there my themselves or having someone else do it?

I'm in the process and It's not easy, just fair warning. All the different curves, valleys and peaks make it a bit tougher than the hood scoop, flares or other straight pieces.

IMHO, It would be easiest to take the valence off the truck, then wrap it. Extra hands would help too.

I had mine done for a while and it doesn't hold up well, at least on the front anyways. I had rock chips within a week, so I just bought the TRD ones, problem solved.

I also had the ones on our TE wrapped but they didn't hold up very good either. I stripped the vinyl off and plastidipped them. While they look great, I also know plastidip isn't permanent but it is repairable. We got a little rock rash on both of them this past summer in Ouray CO so the TRD ones are on the short list.

In the end, I would just recommend getting the TRD ones or dipping what you have.

Okay in didn't know vinyl isn't durable. In that case I suppose I'll plasidip with a color I like and if i like it enough just go get it painted somewhere. Thanks for the help!

I did my hood and the front one. It was a PITA to put on but looks great, easy to clean, and I have yet to have any chips or marks on them. They've been on for a few months now.

Just get a SSO front slimline bumper and be done with it if you want ultra durable.

EDIT*** If you do put vinyl on make sure you get the good stuff from 3M.

That's actually a really good idea. How well has it held up? Do you have any more photos?

held up very well so far, no complaints. don't have a lot of photos, that one probably shows the texture best. most of my iPhone pics don't turn out very well.
there's a pic of a bottle opener hitch i made that gives you a closeup, but that's about it

It's not hard to install. Just have to have patience. Will hold up and last way longer than plasti-dip.

Shop around for a good, reasonably priced paint shop. I had both my valences painted at a local shop for $50. I removed them so all they had to do was scuff and paint but it was done in a couple days. I wheel reasonably hard and I have not had any problems with them chipping or scuffing.

I had them dipped previously and I was always worried about tearing the dip since I was always leaning against the rear valence loading stuff in the hatch. Now, no worries at all

i had a Tint World near my work do it, product was Ameraguard, a 2 component mixed spray application.

Line-x might be a better overall product, but Line-x of Houston wanted $350 to do the front and rear valences, the tint shop charged 1/2 that using the Ameraguard product and was right by me so i gave it a shot. only been about 6 months but it hasn't chipped or faded

remove the front & rear bumpers to access the clips holding it. pretty sure there's a couple youtube videos on how to remove them..

Just recently had mine wrapped with 3M matte black + plastidipped the corners. Came out clean.
