Anyone with a Supercharged 4Runner test drive a Tacoma Hybrid?

I have a 2015 4Runner and am contemplating putting a Magnuson supercharger on it. Just wondering if any supercharged 4Runner had driven a hybrid Tacoma?

I’m tempted by the Tacoma Limited Hybrid mainly bc the max torque at 1700 RPM which will outperform the supercharged 4Runner. However putting the supercharger on is still cheaper than getting a new Tacoma. Any advice would be appreciated!

Personal decision its just tq and driving style. Could try out a power commander for the heck of it before a supercharger. I looked into superchargers years ago but decided not to. 4runner is slow yes but it just works and why rush, be patient and steady.

Go test drive a hybrid Tacoma and see what you think. They should be available enough to test drive by now.

That hybrid slings out more torque than Toyota's 5.7L V8 ever did, and at a much lower RPM. It definitely scoots. And you'd get 20+mpg instead of 12 trying to lipstick a 4.0L pig into the torque of the turbo hybrid.

In general it sounds like you are not satisfied with the 4.0L performance. You could regear, and if you're on oversized tires, you could go back to stock.

Or just wait another year and buy a 6th gen w/ hybrid.
