Anyone with just a 2" lift?

I'd like to upgrade my shocks, but I think 3" might be overkill for what I'll do with her. Anyone do a 2" lift?

It's a 2000 SR5 Sport. I'm assuming I have the higher springs anyway like the 1999 Sport?

Any pics and suggestions?

I think the 2000 generally sits lower than the pre-98, definitely lower than 99 unless you somehow got a 99 model.

The general recommendation for 2” lift is OME 906 springs in the back, 99 tall springs or equivalent OME in front and Bilstein 5100 shocks all around.

That’s similar to what I have. If I was to do it over I would have gotten the Toytec 3” eibach lift because I’ve heard the ride quality is good and in my opinion mine is a little on the stiff/active side.

Lots of us are running a 2" lift. Looks good with 265/75/16 sized tires.

If you are not into hard core off roading, this setup will take you deep into the woods no problem....

I've got 265's already on mine. I'm not sure but I think mine is the same as a 99 highlander. Does anyone have measurement for what a 99 is from the ground?

I have a 01' which sat lower than normal. So I got about 2.5" lift on mine. Bilstein 5100 all around with OME 890 rear and Tundra TRD fronts.

I have exactly 2.5" all around. Bilstein 6112 on the second highest setting and OME 906 + 10mm spacer and bilstein 5100 in rear. I'm not sure why I have 2.5 in the front because the 6112 is supposed to be 2.3" on the highest setting. I did loosen the upper control arms to releive the bushings when I put them in though. They were at 2.75" for a while before it settled.

2" is a perfect height IMO. I'm at 2.25" front, and about 3.5" rear. This pic is with 300lbs in the back, which puts it right at 2.75" rear lift.

Tires are 33.5" tall, and 12.5" wide. 315/70R70 KO2.
Saying "265's" isn't really saying what size tire you have; 265/70R16 were a factory size for many- if not most- 3rd gen 4Runners. I think most guys that say they have "265's" have 265/75R16- which is a size taller than factory, but the same width(265mm).

I have OME 906s in the rear and Toytec Boss coilivers up front. Sits about 2” over stock and clears the 275 70 r17 BFG AT KO2s just fine.

Progressive springs?

OK - so still trying to learn about lifts and reading, reading, reading.

Basic question: Are 'progressive' springs better at providing a less stiff/jarring ride in town? I offroad about 15% of the time but nothing extreme, moderate stuff that an 01's standard suspension (w/1.5" BL) can do. So interested in lifting 2" (you can see why in the pic below) but at the same time take the opportunity to improve the ride quality - I know it won't be a caddy, just a bit better.

I've seen a few mentions of progressive springs, are those what comes off LCs or what? Thanks. :cowboy:

Choosing the right shocks to go with whatever springs will have more of an effect on how it feels around town.

I have 99 talls up front and OME 890 in the rear with OEM LC80 rear shocks. I'm putting in 891 springs in the next week or so because I have a lot of junk in the back frequently and they sag.

I'm running a 2" lift using OME springs and shocks, and very aggressive LT265/75-16. Really happy with it!

It is very capable and looks good.

So I'm looking under my truck today and see I have Bilstein shocks? I thought it was all stock when I bought it. Do I already have a lift on this truck? Here's some pics of the front and back. and what it looks like now.

Bilstein 5100 & ome springs 2" with 265/75/16 Wildpeak M/Ts just before i sold it. It looks like you might have the 4600 shocks with factory springs.

OP Those springs are not the 99 Talls. I just had a look at my extra set, pink/blue and yellow/blue. Of course these colour codes are side specific but a quick search of the forum here will get you all that info.

Why don't you put 4runner 5100s all around, get OME2906s in the rear and use the existing OEM front springs you have, run them on the 2nd or 3rd perch - as suites your taste? That's a nice 2" lift set up for not much money.

Or if you want a little lower, run the front 5100s a little lower and find new 99 Talls for the rear. This will be an under 2" lift or "suspension refresh".

Edit: I run the OME2906's in the rear and 2004 Tacoma progressive rate springs in the front. This is a nice option for a 3rz but would likely produce too much rake in a v6 truck.

Oh sure, 99 Talls in front. Lots of guys on here have just that set up. I only suggested keeping the originals and using a higher perch to save money. I don't think you will see much difference between the 99 Talls on the lowest perch and your original springs on a higher perch. Others here with more experience might add to this.
