FJ Cruiser coils are another option for the rear. They have a slightly wider diameter, but seat on the perches just fine, though on the upper perch you need to hammer it a tiny bit wider. They offer somewhere around a 2" lift, have a good spring rate for these trucks (180 lb/in I think). I ran a pair in the rear for two years and had no issues.

Those are Bilstein 4600 shocks, which are a 'stock-type' replacement. Your truck looks like it is at a stock 2000 height.
When measuring height of the truck, measure from the center of the wheel hub to the fender. That removes tire size as a variable. Around 20" is considered 'stock' ('99 talls sit around 21", early and late sit 19-20", depending). My '99 2WD (not a '99 tall truck..) was just over 20" all around when it was stock.

I've got the TRD tundra coils on 5100's on the lowest setting up front and OME 906's with a 10mm coil spacers on each side with 5100's on the rear. My hub to fender measurement up front is 21.75" and the rear is 22.5" with a case of water and a stroller in the back. As far as ride quality it rides as good if not better than my 2015 Tacoma TSS. I highly recommend this setup.

Haha I’m guessing “bit of work” means hammering it with a BFH?
I love the look. How’s the power with those tires? Did you take an MPG hit?

Hahaha yes, a 3# hammer helps quite a bit. From 265/75s to 255/85 I did notice a bit of power loss. It's not terrible though.
Thanks, I love the look so far, just hope it doesn't rip any fender flares off on the trails. I just switched last week after ruining a sidewall on my wildpeaks. It's not my dd so I haven't put many miles on them yet. Based off of the power loss Im thinking it lost some fuel economy as well.

Basically, the D558's were a custom front shock made for an aftermarket company through Bilstein for the Tacoma. Since then, Bilstein has come out with a 4Runner specific application. They are slightly different, but both work.
