Anyone worry about their awning being stolen?

not much you can do about that. I got a pretty easy way to help secure it to the car

I have thought about it too. Not sure what more I can do other than some security bolts/nuts. But then maybe I’m better off letting them get it off easier so they don’t mess up the paint on the roof trying to get it off.
I’m concerned about going on extended trips and during this time going on multi day backpacking hikes. So leaving my vehicle at the trail heads in remote areas.
This is the sole reason I went with an ARB versus a more feature rich and more expensive EaziAwn.
Some call me paranoid, but I like to say the paranoid survive.

I"m not too worried about my awning, because:
1. its too heavy for one person to steal
2. I"m running 4 mounting brackets, instead of 2.
3. using 4 non-removable security nuts (if you want to remove it, you have to cut them off), and 4 torx security bolts to mix it up.
4. awning itself, covers the crossbar bolts, so they can't just remove my crossbars.
basically, I made it a huge pain in the butt to steal the awning, so hard in fact that I can't even remove it if I wanted to without dragging out power tools. It's basically semi permanent.
I sleep well at night.

in case anyone wants to make it secured. You can just make a u shaped bracket with 3 holes. the one in the middle is for the awning bolt or any exposed bolt..
The other 2 on the end of the U, you can run a security bolt through or run a simple key lock. this prevents access to the nut or bolt that they need to remove it with a wrench or a socket. All you need to do is remove the security feature and then use a socket.
