Anzo aftermarket headlights

So I've been in the market for aftermarket headlights mainly for aesthetics. Since it was mainly for aesthetics, I did not want to drop a whole lot of money on some headlights. Initially I was going to go for the Alpharex entry level headlights, but during my search I ran into the Anzo headlights. To me, they look very different from Alpharex and Morimotos, and from a price perspective, the cheapest out of them all. I found these bad boys for around $350 online brand new. I was skeptical at first because there weren't any reviews and also noticed depending on the site that you go to, the price can vary pretty drastically. I gave them a try anyways, and am pretty impressed by these headlights.

Made in Taiwan from the same company that makes those eagle eyes tail lights. The headlights actually have "eagle eyes" imprinted on them. Build quality is solid. Edges are appropriately sealed. Had some rain over the last few days and there has not been any leaks or fogging. Uses halogen bulbs instead of LEDs, but what do you expect in the 300-400 price range?

Just passing this info along to anyone who is looking for a change but doesn't want to drop 1k on some headlights. Check out my youtube video for more thorough look as well as some clips of light output.

I may be in the minority here but I find it a hard sell for me to "upgrade" to aftermarket headlights that actually have similar or worse lighting performance than the OEM setup. All for the sake of vanity.

Personally I wouldn't tack on those cheap ebay special headlights onto my truck. It seems like you would be going backwards in function for just a little LED accent light strip.

Everyone has different needs and wants for their 4Runner. OP obviously liked the style of the Anzo headlights and the price point worked for him. If you watch the video, he even likes the throw of the headlights better than the stock headlights.

They look awesome but that one feature you talked about at 12:50 in the video is a turn away for me (hopefully this will get you more views on the video and maybe it will limit repetitive questions in this thread). I’ll be sticking to stock headlights for now but I really appreciate your time and effort to help the 4Runner community!

if you found a seller, selling Eagle Eyes.. it would probably be half the price of anzo.. Anzo stuff seems to be about 100% more expensive then Eagle Eyes..

I can't speak for the ANZOs, but I love my AlphaRex Luxx all black units. A significant improvement over stock in performance and they look amazing.

There aren't too many 4Runner owners that can say they haven't changed something due to looks. Even if it's just badge overlays, a 'TRD' Grill, Decals, etc.. We all have different priorities and budgets, which is great because that means more diversity in our rides. Keeps it interesting.

I did do a search for eagle eyes headlights on both ebay and google, nothing pops up. I agree Anzo stuff seems really overpriced, but they only manufacture, they don't set price points. I noticed these headlights ranged from the low $300, to up to $700 depending on where you were buying from. I managed to get it in the low $300.

I think the tail lights that Anzo sells has a direct eagle eyes equivalent. Those anzos are like 100-200 more than the eagle eyes with the only difference of sequential turn signals.

Appreciate the support. Not really in it for the views, small timer here that's trying to help the community. Didn't see any reviews or anything for the headlights so I thought if anyone is similar to me, they could benefit from this.

In regards to the views, I am hoping people reading this thread will watch the video instead of commenting something that was already covered in the video. The YouTube views is a secondary.

Is the white in your pics an actual accent LED, or just a white piece of reflective plastic?

i'll be honest, I'm not sure. I'm thinking along the lines of white piece of reflective plastic.

When i see these types of lids with LEDs, they are generally really clean and bright light. This one seems a little more dulled kind of like the way we look at LED bulbs vs Halogen bulbs.

Considering the price point, i'm going to say white piece of reflective plastic.

Hey! Were these plug and play or did they require any additional connections? For example the alpharex DRLs require connection to the battery terminal and the fuse box.

Also, how are they holding up!?

sorry for the 2 month delay. No additional connections, plug and play. It rains a lot here in Texas, and i think they are holding up really well. I installed the lasfits switchbacks for the turn signals and swapped out the halogen bulbs for LED and they are phenomenal.

What you will find with the Taiwanese aftermarket headlights is that the lenses are very cheap. They will quickly yellow and craze (crack) versus the OEM lenses. Save your OEM housings so you can return to normal after he vanity has worn out it’s welcome.

Do you have a link to the led bulbs you went with and the switchbacks as well? And are they still holding up to Texas weather? I'm in Central Texas myself.
