I have a wiring sketch (below) and would like clarification on if I need the diodes that the ARB wiring diagram calls for on the ignition and dash illumination power wires.
I have read of ppl frying their computers doing this incorrectly, so I wanted to make sure.
I have the AOB switches wired up and just have the green relay trigger wires disconnected for now. The top light on the switches comes on when the switch is pressed in, as they should. The bottom switch lights come on when dash lights are turned on and also dim with the dash lights, as they should.
I am not using ARB air lockers, so I taped the solenoid plugs off. I only plan to use the first ARB harness that goes to the battery, as shown.
The ARB wiring diagram states that I need the two diodes on both the ignition +12V and dash illumination +12V power wires (highlighted). The AOB switch wiring diagram states that I do not need any diodes when wiring up a compressor (only for a negative switched headlight circuit, which I'm not using).
What do you think? Should I add the diodes to be safe before wiring up the green trigger wires and getting this finalized?
