The notion that an FBI Special Agent would commit perjury by filing a false sworn affidavit in Federal Court is what is absurd. You black helicopter people think everything is a government conspiracy. What is hilarious, however, is that Apple's encryption has been defeated by the either the government or someone helping the government. Since encryption is really all they have that is "special" it must be a devastating blow. Back to the drawing board.

I have to disagree. When a former security adviser to the president goes on record stating that the NSA could break into the phone anytime they wanted, that's about as clear as it gets without revealing classified information.

The FBI wanted a legal precedent to coerce private companies to work backdoors into their technology. When it became abundantly clear over the last month or so that Apple wasn't that stupid, they quietly gave up and handed the phone off to the NSA. Simple as that.

The problem with your assertion is that the FBI did not fail. The judge never got a chance to rule. Let you imagination run wild. The whole ISIS issue stems from the fact that the investigation at hand was an ISIS or ISIS inspired attack. With the bad guy using an encrypted iPhone.
