My wife and i have an Airstream Basecamp 20X. This is basically an "essentials only" camper that has 4 season and some off-road capability.
It is NOT the fancy home on wheels that Airstream has been building since they started.
One of the things the Basecamp does not come with is any kind of TV/radio setup. There is no included wiring for any electronics like that in the trailer.
In addition, there is NO provision for WIFI/internet either; this is where the problem arises.
My wife now (digitally) works out of the Atlanta GA office, while we live in the Dallas TX area. She is no longer tied to a physical office and is free to work remotely from almost anywhere.
The Airstream is built with an all aluminum "skin" both inside and out, built over a welded aluminum mono-coque framework that is bolted to the steel trailer frame. This design, unfortunately, creates a Faraday Cage.
She can use her hot spot outside and have 4 bars of 5G, no problem.
Step inside and she is lucky to have 2 bars of LTE, the interference from the trailer design is so strong.
SO, long story short, how do we get a usable, stable WIFI signal into and outside the trailer?
Can we use our T-Mobile home internet router inside the trailer?
Would a setup with a roof mounted antenna, and a WIFI Booster be the answer?
I am open to any and all suggestions, and am not afraid to spend a few $$ to get her a setup that will work consistently.
