AR-15 and Glock 26 Info

I am selling a few of my guns and replacing them with a couple of new ones. I am looking at the S&W Sport AR-15 5.56 because it is similar to the M-4 I carried in the army, and I always wanted one. Question is, where is the best place to get a good price on one, and why are they so much less than other like AR-15 models.

Secondly, if i can sell a few of my hand guns and my hi-point carbine I want to also get a Glock 26 as my carry, I have several Glocks, but none that small. Anyone that has shot one know if it feels as small as it looks? cabellas and Cheaper than dirt are both out of stock so I can't hold one in person. I have large hands (not xl) Basically, i just want to know if anyone dislike theirs. I may just order from gun broker dot com. of if you are in the DFW are and want to do some trading, let me know.

The Glock 26 and 27 are identical (size + weight) but with the 27 and a $100 conversion barrel you can have both a 9mm and a 40 cal (just simply swap barrels). It's nice to have the extra snap of the 40 to carry and the economics of the 9 for the range.

great info, I notice that my 19 and 22 are the same uppers (less the barrel) can I assume the same thing will apply here?
 
BTW - Most people shoot the baby Glocks MORE accurately then the bigger brothers. The 27 is the PERFECT CCW!

guess the answer is simple.. get a 26 and a 27 . I currently have a tactical 22 gen 3, 22 gen 4, 22 stock gen 3, and stock 22C, along with a 19 tactical. the 22C was my duty weapon and started my Glock love affair.

I am happy that you said many people shoot the sub c better. even if you are making it up, it makes me feel better. My wife carries a kel-tec and I am not a fan... I may get her a 26 and myself a 27, and just borrow her barrel for the range.

I didn't make it up, do some research on Glock Talk. The strange part is the bigger gun feels better in your hand but the baby shoots more accurate.

You can not use the 26 barrel in the 27, the LW conversion barrel allows you to use the 27's insides/guts, it is different then the 26 barrel.

The S&W is missing a forward assist and dust cover. I've been looking at it as well, and from what I read for only $400 more you can get a rifle with these two items !

There's several good AR15 forums out there on the internet and an overload of information about them. I'm still studying, so far leaning towards a Ruger Mini 14 simply because it does not look like an evil-black-rifle but is almost as effective.

I noticed that, but i wonder if its worth it, the forward assist is not that important for recreational use the rifle will not likely see many thousands of rounds. and I store my guns in the safe, so the dust cover is of no real concern, however i would prefer to have it. the other thing i noticed missing are the provisions for the 203, but again no big deal too me.

I just don't know if the extra cash is worth options that are designed for weapons that spend alot of their life firing cheap ammo and in the field with many different users..

Cant go wrong with the mini 14. I love mine. I put a desert tan ati folding stock on it and it looks and feels great. (I put a bolt to lock it in the extended position to comply with california) .After shooting it and then my father-in-laws ar15 for comparison i prefer the mini.

I've never fired the 26 but I have a Glock 27 as a carry piece. I've been very impressed with it. I needed a sub compact, I don't want to put my clients in an uncomfortable position but there are a lot of neighborhoods in Philly where I won't go without it. I can carry my 27 dressed up for work and nobody knows I'm carrying it.
 
Well I went and bought the S&W AR-15 tonight. Next month I think it will get both Glocks. Thanks for the input guys.
 
We had G27s. Too small in my big hand and too much recoil for my wife's little hands. Both have G22s now and are much happier with the feel and the accuracy. And no you can not put the 9mm barrel in the 40 cal G22, I believe however that trick will work with the mid sized 40 cal G23 and the mid sized 9 mm barrel.

I picked it up locally at cheaper than dirt. Overall I am happy with it, there is not a dust cover or forward assist on the S&W, but for the price (under 600) it really is a great AR.
