ARB Bumper questions!

Hey guys, I have a few questions surrounding the bumper on my 2000 4runner.

I have had the truck for about 4 months now. After some research turns out the aftermarket front bumper is actually for a newer Tacoma (SAHARA BUMPER ARB SAHARA BUMPER I believe) and I think it looks great.

Fitment is good and the previous owner painted the chrome top bar with rocker-guard/bed liner and that is exactly what I would have done as well.

I had a turn signal burn out and when I went to replace it seems the 10mm nuts are seized and the bolt is turning with the nut due to some corrosion. ( the light assembly needs to be replaced I guess? Does anyone know where to order one? I am in Canada)

I am wondering if it is worth it to remove the whole bumper, sandblast, and powder coat? I really like the look and want to keep it but hoping the rust isn't too bad and have to break something to replace the lamps.

On the outside, there are tiny patches of very light surface rust starting but mostly it is just the inside. Not really sure how to remove the light assembly though if it is seized... Maybe something I missed? Thanks!

Does the light socket not twist out so you can replace the bulb? If not I would soak that in penetrating oil for a few days and then see if you can make progress.

But to me... it looks like those sockets would either twist off or pop some clips and come off.

Clean the thread with a wire brush. Apply WD-40. Grab the end of the bolt with a locking plier and back out the nut.

I did try this briefly but started chewing the threads and really didn't want to destroy anything before sourcing a replacement.

So the white housing in the first picture is the part that contains the turn signal lamp and as far as I can tell the entire black insert (the 3 bolts) needs to come out to access the turn signal or the fog lamp...

fog light looks like the 2 screws need to be taken out for access. and probably a twist off design. I have never been into one, but thats what it looks like to me. I would use wd-40 or something for the bolts and really start soaking them.

I have the older version of the ARb bumper sitting on some saw horses about to get cleaned up and installed! Cannot wait!

I dealt with this just this week on my ARB bumper.

I ended up having to "delete" one of the bolts on each side with a grinder to get the assembly apart. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there's any way to replace the bolts in the plastic housings, they're molded in.

It's a horrible design. I reassembled it with two bolts on each side, and it seems to be solid. I used a ton of antisieze on reassembly, hopefully the other hardware doesn't freeze up.

Thanks for posting. That is kinda what I feared. I would grind them off but not sure if I would be able to find a replacement or somehow fabricate a way to remount... Agreed sh*t design.
