ARB bumper without the tubes?

Does anyone know if ARB makes their bumper without the tubes? I don't like the style of the tubes they have on there, makes the truck look old. I'd rather have just the bumper then have my girl's dad fab up some tubes similar to Glen's Armorology bumper.

Yeah, it's called a Shrockworks! J/K...but I think the ARB bumper with or without the bars looks dated. Whereas the Shrock just looks badass. My .02.

Worst case, you could (maybe) find a used one and have the bars cut off and weld over the holes. It would be a total makeover, but it might still end up cheaper than a new Shrock.

I love that bumper, but I will not tie up a thousand dollars for 6 months waiting for a horribly run buisness to get their sh!t straight.
I can get the ARB from summit and have it in 2 days.

:iagree: It's not like they're made in the jungle one by one and carried out on a mule...they're really cool, but not 6 months cool...
 
I guess so. But look at it this way, you've done without an off-road bumper for how long? Had you ordered the shrockworks 6 months ago, you'd have it today!

Anyway, good luck with the search. I would like to see how that hoop-less ARB looks.

I respectfully disagree. I think the 3rd generation 4Runner was years ahead in design and a lot of people cannot believe it when I tell them my truck is a 98. Sure there are things about it that show it's age to us car guys (amber turn signals and corner lights, no LEDs anywhere..) but those are easily fixable. I agree with LINY that the ARB looks a bit dated. But I really don't think my truck looks dated at all, especially compared to its competition at the time..

I totally agree. The 3rd Gens do a good job at not showing age.

Just look at the Jeep Cherokee that was produced during the same years. They definitely show their age. Makes the 3rd Gen look almost new.
 
Or the Ford Exploder, those things look wretched.

I would go with the Shrockworks too, I agree they don't know how to run a business but they make, in my opinion, the best bumper out there...

I love the Schrockworks bumper, but I refuse to wait for them to get off their asses. Like I said, I can get an ARB bumper within a week.
 
I dont think the ARB looks outdated at all. Once you got it on there you would love it. The bars are kind a plus for me. Little added protection. You never know what kind of idiot is going to pull out in front of you or maybe a deer or whatever but I feel good knowing I have my ARB to help me.

You'd have to admit, though, that Glen's Armorology bumper does have a more modern look.
I just don't have the $900 in gas to drive to colorado and have a $1400 bumper built.

Most of the bumpers out there have a similar look on the bottom half, I just have a thing for that prerunner style tube

When I ordered my ARB it was available without the tubes. Just be warned that the ARB is a flimsy piece of crap. If you weld Armorology style tubes on there, it will only be for looks, not function. I tried to climb a rock with the corner of my bumper touching it. My buddies said it flexed severely.
 
Bryan, IMO the tubes ARB put on them don't age it, if you don't like the tubes than just take them off completly and just make it a flat top bumper and put PIAA's on it.

almost EXACLTY what i want! that stinger bar is a litttttttle high for my liking, but thats exactly what i want. Looks like he cut the bars off and made his own...Looks like thats what I'll be doing one day....when I have the balls to cut up a brand new $800 bumper lol


KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS PEALED, FRIENDS...I WANT A USED ARB BUMPER!
